Background

Plays a role in pre-mRNA splicing as a core component of the spliceosomal U1, U2, U4 and U5 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), the building blocks of the spliceosome , the building blocks of the spliceosome . Component of both the pre-catalytic spliceosome B complex and activated spliceosome C complexes . As a component of the minor spliceosome, involved in the splicing of U12-type introns in pre-mRNAs . As part of the U7 snRNP it is involved in histone 3'-end processing .

Western blot analysis of SNRPG expression in Hela (A), MDAMB468 (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 8 kD; Observed band size: 10 kD)

Immunofluorescent analysis of Anti-SNRPG staining in Hela cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a hidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a AREX® Fluor 488 -conjugated secondary antibody (green) in PBS at room temperature in the dark. Phalloidin - AREX® Fluor 555 was used to stain Actin filaments (red). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue).
