Background

Transcription factor . Recognizes and binds to the regulatory elements of target genes, such as visual system homeobox CHX10, negatively modulating transcription . Plays a role in establishing motor neuron identity, in concert with LIM domain transcription factor LMO4 . Involved in negatively modulating transcription of interneuron genes in motor neurons, acting, at least in part, by blocking regulatory sequence interactions of the ISL1-LHX3 complex . Involved in pancreas development and function; may play a role in pancreatic cell fate specification .

Western blot analysis of MNX1 expression in HEK293T (A), HepG2 (B), Jurkat (C), rat liver (D) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 40; 20 kD; Observed band size: 41;45-50 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of MNX1 staining in human tonsil formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. Tyramide-AREX® Fluor 488 (green) was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with DAPI (blue).
