Background
Milk exosomes are isolated and purified from fresh milk, typically ranging in diameter from 30 to 200 nm. They possess a phospholipid bilayer membrane structure similar to cell membranes, which tightly encapsulates specific proteins (such as cytokines and growth factors), lipids, miRNAs, and DNA fragments. This structure allows them to rapidly traverse cellular membrane barriers, enabling precise recognition and targeting of cellular damage.
Milk exosomes represent a uniquely evolutionarily conserved class of microvesicles. They maintain the integrity of their encapsulated nucleic acids and proteins while passing through the stomach and gastrointestinal tract, allowing them to act locally or be transported into the circulatory system. Furthermore, they exhibit exceptional stability under acidic and other harsh conditions compared to many naturally occurring exosomes.
As delivery vehicles, milk exosomes are utilized for the oral administration of proteins, peptides, nucleic acid therapeutics, and small‑molecule drugs. Additionally, they are loaded with over a hundred types of high‑efficiency nutrients that help rejuvenate the skin, offering significant advantages in the fields of anti‑aging and skin whitening.

Data

This electron microscopy image shows milk exosomes (isolated from fresh milk), displaying their typical vesicular structures (30–200 nm in diameter) with phospholipid bilayer membranes.

This electron microscopy image presents exosomes derived from cell supernatant, showing their characteristic microvesicle morphology (similar vesicular structures) as a comparison sample.
