Background

Bifunctional enzyme . The C-terminal domain has epoxide hydrolase activity and acts on epoxides (alkene oxides, oxiranes) and arene oxides . Plays a role in xenobiotic metabolism by degrading potentially toxic epoxides . Also determines steady-state levels of physiological mediators .

Western blot analysis of EPHX2 expression in HEK293T (A), MCF7 (B), Jurkat (C) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 62 kD; Observed band size: 70 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of EPHX2 staining in human kidney formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. Tyramide-AREX® Fluor 488 (green) was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with DAPI (blue).
