Background

Hydrolase that metabolizes extracellular nucleotides, including ATP, GTP, UTP and CTP . Also hydrolyzes extracellular 2',3'-cGAMP (cyclic GMP-AMP), a second messenger that activates TMEM173/STING and triggers type-I interferon production, and is therefore involved in the regulation of innate immune response . 2',3'-cGAMP appears to be further processed to GMP, AMP and inorganic phosphate . Limits mast cells and basophils response during inflammation and during the chronic phases of allergic responses by eliminating extracellular ATP, a signaling molecule activating these cells in an autocrine manner. Metabolizes extracellular ATP in the lumen of the small intestine, and thereby prevents ATP-induced apoptosis of intestinal plasmacytoid dendritic cells .

Western blot analysis of CD203c expression in HEK293T (A), HepG2 (B), mouse muscle (C), rat muscle (D) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 100 kD; Observed band size: 100 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of CD203c staining in human prostate cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
