Background

Acts as a transcriptional coactivator. Increases ligand-dependent transcriptional activity of AR and promotes AR sumoylation. The stimulation of AR activity is dependent upon sumoylation . Also functions as a transcriptional coactivator in the TGF-beta signaling pathway by increasing the activity of the SMAD3/SMAD4 transcriptional complex . Involved in transcriptional activation of a subset of NOTCH1 target genes including MYC. Involved in thymocyte and T cell development . Involved in the regulation of postmitotic positioning of pyramidal neurons in the developing cerebral cortex .

Western blot analysis of ZMIZ1 expression in K562 (A), 293T (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 115 kD; Observed band size: 95 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of ZMIZ1 staining in human breast carcinoma formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
