Background

Component of cohesin complex, a complex required for the cohesion of sister chromatids after DNA replication. The cohesin complex apparently forms a large proteinaceous ring within which sister chromatids can be trapped. At anaphase, the complex is cleaved and dissociates from chromatin, allowing sister chromatids to segregate. The cohesin complex may also play a role in spindle pole assembly during mitosis.

Western blot analysis of STAG2 expression in HEK293T (A), K562 (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 141 kD; Observed band size: 141 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of STAG2 staining in human kidney formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. Tyramide-AREX® Fluor 488 (green) was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with DAPI (blue).
