Background

Component of the coat protein complex II (COPII) which promotes the formation of transport vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). The coat has two main functions, the physical deformation of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane into vesicles and the selection of cargo molecules for their transport to the Golgi complex which promotes the formation of transport vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Western blot analysis of SEC24D expression in A375 (A), mouse liver (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 113 kD; Observed band size: 113 kD)

Immunofluorescent analysis of SEC24D staining in L929 cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a AREX® Fluor 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue).
