Background

Catalyzes the interconversion of 3- and 2-phosphoglycerate with 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate as the primer of the reaction. Can also catalyze the interconversion of (2R)-2,3-bisphosphoglycerate and (2R)-3-phospho-glyceroyl phosphate, but with a reduced activity.

Western blot analysis of PGAM2 expression in SHSY5Y (A), mouse testis (B), mouse brain (C), rat kidney (D) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 28 kD; Observed band size: 29 kD)

Immunofluorescent analysis of PGAM2 staining in mouse heart. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a AREX® Fluor 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue).
