Background

Immunity-related GTPase that plays important roles in innate immunity and inflammatory response . Acts as a dynamin-like protein that binds to intracellular membranes and promotes remodeling and trafficking of those membranes . Required for clearance of acute protozoan and bacterial infections by interacting with autophagy and lysosome regulatory proteins, thereby promoting the fusion of phagosomes with lysosomes for efficient degradation of cargo including microbes . Regulates selective autophagy, including xenophagy and mitophagy, both directly and indirectly .

Western blot analysis of LRG-47 expression in HepG2 (A) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 20 kD; Observed band size: 28 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of LRG-47 staining in human liver formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
