Background

Involved in tethering the chromosomes to the spindle pole and in chromosome movement. Binds to the tail domain of the KIF3A/KIF3B heterodimer to form a heterotrimeric KIF3 complex and may regulate the membrane binding of this complex .

Western blot analysis of KAP3 expression in Jurkat (A), K562 (B), Hela (C), mouse muscle (D) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 91 kD; Observed band size: 100 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of KAP3 staining in human stomach cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
