Background

Has hexosaminidase activity. Responsible for the cleavage of the monosaccharides N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) and N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from cellular substrates. Has a preference for galactosaminide over glucosaminide substrates and N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from cellular substrates. Has a preference for galactosaminide over glucosaminide substrates .
