Background

Transcriptional activator or repressor which serves as a general switch factor for erythroid development . It binds to DNA sites with the consensus sequence 5'-[AT]GATA[AG]-3' within regulatory regions of globin genes and of other genes expressed in erythroid cells. Activates the transcription of genes involved in erythroid differentiation of K562 erythroleukemia cells, including HBB, HBG1/2, ALAS2 and HMBS .

Western blot analysis of GATA1 (Phospho-S142) expression in HeLa (A), HEK293T (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 42 kD; Observed band size: 43 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of GATA1 (Phospho-S142) staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
