Background

In T-cells, functions as a regulator of p38 MAPKs by inhibiting p88 phosphorylation and activity . Might affect PCNA interaction with some CDK (cell division protein kinase) complexes; stimulates DNA excision repair in vitro and inhibits entry of cells into S phase.

Western blot analysis of GADD45 alpha expression in mouse liver (A), mouse kidney (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 14; 18 kD; Observed band size: 18 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of GADD45 alpha staining in mouse testis formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
