Background

As a co-chaperone for HSPA5 it is required for proper folding, trafficking or degradation of proteins . Binds directly to both unfolded proteins that are substrates for ERAD and nascent unfolded peptide chains, but dissociates from the HSPA5-unfolded protein complex before folding is completed . May help recruiting HSPA5 and other chaperones to the substrate. Stimulates HSPA5 ATPase activity . It is necessary for maturation and correct trafficking of PKD1 .

Western blot analysis of DNAJB11 expression in HuvEc (A), NCIH460 (B), MCF7 (C) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 40 kD; Observed band size: 40 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of DNAJB11 staining in human lung cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
