Background

Required for the formation of KRT8/KRT18 filaments that are involved in ARHGEF40-mediated actin stress fiber formation and tensional force-induced stress fiber formation and reinforcement . Together with KRT19, helps to link the contractile apparatus to dystrophin at the costameres of striated muscle.

Western blot analysis of Cytokeratin 8 expression in HepG2 (A) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 53 kD; Observed band size: 53 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of Cytokeratin 8 staining in human gastric adenocarcinoma formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
