Background
The protein encoded by this gene has an N-terminus that is similar to the multicopy associated filamentation (maf) protein of Bacillus subtilis and to orfE of Escherichia coli, while the C-terminus is similar to N-acetylserotonin O-methyltransferase. This gene is located in the pseudoautosomal region 1 (PAR1) of X and Y chromosomes. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Data

Western blot analysis of ASMTL expression in SW620 (A), NIH3T3 (B), mouse pancreas (C), mouse testis (D) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 68 kD; Observed band size: 69 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of ASMTL staining in human gastric cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
Storage
Store at 4°C short term. For long term storage, store at -20°C, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.
