Background

Possible adhesion molecule with a role in early hematopoiesis by mediating the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or directly to stromal cells. Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins.

Data

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) analysis of placenta tissue labelling CD34 with ARA785 at 1:1,600. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed using Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0.

Overlay histogram showing Jurkat cells stained with ARA785 (Red). The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 mins. The cells were then incubated in the antibody (ARA785, 1:200 dilution) in 1x PBS/1% BSA for 30 min at room temperature . The secondary antibody used was a Goat Anti-Rabbit Alexa Fluor<sup>®</sup> 488 (IgG H+L) at 1:2,000 dilution for 20 min at room temperature . Unlabelled sample (Black) was used as a control.
