Background
Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) catalyzes the rate-limiting step in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter dopamine and other catecholamines. TH is mainly expressed in central and peripheral nervous tissues as well as the adrenal medulla in normal tissues. In tumor tissue, it is mainly expressed in paragangliomas. TH is mainly used in the auxiliary diagnosis of paragangliomas in clinical pathological diagnosis, with high specificity and sensitivity.
