Background

Nuclear matrix protein which forms MORC3-NBs (nuclear bodies) via an ATP-dependent mechanism and plays a role in innate immunity by restricting different viruses through modulation of the IFN response via an ATP-dependent mechanism and plays a role in innate immunity by restricting different viruses through modulation of the IFN response . Mechanistically, possesses a primary antiviral function through a MORC3-regulated element that activates IFNB1, and this function is guarded by a secondary IFN-repressing function . Sumoylated MORC3-NBs associates with PML-NBs and recruits TP53 and SP100, thus regulating TP53 activity . Binds RNA in vitro .

Western blot analysis of MORC3 expression in HL60 (A), U87MG (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 107 kD; Observed band size: 101 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of MORC3 staining in human stomach formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
