Background
Kanamycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, is used in the treatment of animal diseases, strain screening and the preparation of cell and gene therapy drug raw materials. Due to its neurotoxic and nephrotoxic properties, it can damage the 8th cranial nerve, leading to vestibular and cochlear injuries. Residues in animal-derived foods and biological drugs can affect human health and even cause allergic reactions. Regulatory authorities in Europe, the United States, and China require strict limits on its use.
AREX's Kanamycin ELISA Kit employs an indirect competitive ELISA method. The pre-coated kanamycin-conjugated antigen on the microplate strip competes with residual kanamycin in the sample for binding to the enzyme-labeled anti-kanamycin monoclonal antibody. After adding the enzyme-labeled secondary antibody and TMB substrate for color development, the absorbance is measured using a microplate reader. The absorbance is inversely proportional to the kanamycin content in the sample. This kit requires only approximately one hour for operation and has a linear range of 0.05 ng/mL–5 ng/mL.
