Background

Key transcriptional regulator of type I interferon (IFN)-dependent immune responses which plays a critical role in the innate immune response against DNA and RNA viruses -dependent immune responses which plays a critical role in the innate immune response against DNA and RNA viruses . Regulates the transcription of type I IFN genes (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta) and IFN-stimulated genes (ISG) by binding to an interferon-stimulated response element (ISRE) in their promoters . Acts as a more potent activator of the IFN-beta (IFNB) gene than the IFN-alpha (IFNA) gene and plays a critical role in both the early and late phases of the IFNA/B gene induction .

Western blot analysis of IRF3 expression in THP1 (A), Hela (B), A549 (C), MCF7 (D), K562 (E), Jurkat (F), A431 (G) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 47 kD; Observed band size: 52 kD kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of IRF3 staining in human bladder cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
