Involved in the regulation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-mitochondria coupling. Negatively regulates the ER-mitochondria distance and Ca(2+) transfer from ER to mitochondria possibly implicating it in the regulation of apoptosis -mitochondria coupling.
