Background

Seems to play a role in epithelial tight junction formation. Appears early in primordial forms of cell junctions and recruits PARD3 . The association of the PARD6-PARD3 complex may prevent the interaction of PARD3 with JAM1, thereby preventing tight junction assembly . Plays a role in regulating monocyte transmigration involved in integrity of epithelial barrier . Ligand for integrin alpha-L/beta-2 involved in memory T-cell and neutrophil transmigration . Involved in platelet activation .

Western blot analysis of CD321 expression in Hela (A), PC12 (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 27; 32 kD; Observed band size: 40 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of CD321 staining in human liver formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
