Background

Integrin alpha-6/beta-4 is a receptor for laminin. Plays a critical structural role in the hemidesmosome of epithelial cells. Is required for the regulation of keratinocyte polarity and motility. ITGA6:ITGB4 binds to NRG1 (via EGF domain) and this binding is essential for NRG1-ERBB signaling and this binding is essential for NRG1-ERBB signaling . ITGA6:ITGB4 binds to IGF1 and this binding is essential for IGF1 signaling . ITGA6:ITGB4 binds to IGF2 and this binding is essential for IGF2 signaling .

Western blot analysis of CD104 expression in A549 (A), A431 (B), SW620 (C) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 202 kD; Observed band size: 205 kD kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of CD104 staining in human stomach cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
