Background

Transcription factor that binds to the immunoglobulin enhancer Mu-E5/KE5-motif. Involved in the initiation of neuronal differentiation. Activates transcription by binding to the E box (5'-CANNTG-3'). Binds to the E-box present in the somatostatin receptor 2 initiator element (SSTR2-INR) to activate transcription . Preferentially binds to either 5'-ACANNTGT-3' or 5'-CCANNTGG-3'.

Western blot analysis of TCF4/12 expression in H446 (A), mouse liver (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 71; 72 kD; Observed band size: 70 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of TCF4/12 staining in human prostate cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Store at 4°C short term. For long term storage, store at -20°C, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.
