Neurobeachin-like protein 1 (NBEAL1), also known as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 chromosomal region candidate gene 16 protein, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 chromosomal region candidate gene 17 protein. Belongs to the WD repeat neurobeachin family Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in brain, kidney, prostate and testis. Weakly expressed in ovary, small intestine, colon and peripheral blood leukocytes. May be correlative to several tumors, such as ovary serous adenocarcinoma and metastasis mammary gland carcinoma breast

Western blot analysis of NBEAL1 expression in HEK293T (A), HepG2 (B) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 307 kD; Observed band size: 160 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of NBEAL1 staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
