Background

Transcriptional repressor. Binds with MAX to form a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein complex which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. Antagonizes MYC transcriptional activity by competing for MAX and suppresses MYC dependent cell transformation .

Western blot analysis of MXD3 expression in mouse liver (A), mouse kidney (B), rat liver (C), rat kidney (D) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 23; 22; 42 kD; Observed band size: 28 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of MXD3 staining in human breast formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
