Background

Protein insertase that mediates insertion of transmembrane proteins into the mitochondrial outer membrane . Catalyzes insertion of proteins with alpha-helical transmembrane regions, such as signal-anchored, tail-anchored and multi-pass membrane proteins . Does not mediate insertion of beta-barrel transmembrane proteins . May play a role in apoptosis .

Western blot analysis of MTCH1 expression in MCF7 (A), HepG2 (B), mouse kidney (C), rat brain (D) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 19; 39; 41 kD; Observed band size: 45-50 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of MTCH1 staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
