Background
GPRC5A, or G protein-coupled receptor, family C, group 5, member A, is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) involved in various cellular processes and implicated in multiple diseases, particularly cancers. It is also known as RAIG1 or RAI3. GPRC5A is expressed primarily in the lung and plays a role in lung cancer, acting as a tumor suppressor gene in some cases. Additionally, GPRC5A has been implicated in pancreatic, prostate, ovarian, and gastric cancers, where it may act as an oncogene.
