Background

Receptor for netrin required for axon guidance. Mediates axon attraction of neuronal growth cones in the developing nervous system upon ligand binding. Its association with UNC5 proteins may trigger signaling for axon repulsion. It also acts as a dependence receptor required for apoptosis induction when not associated with netrin ligand. Implicated as a tumor suppressor gene.

Data

Western blot analysis of DCC expression in ACHN (A) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 158 kD; Observed band size: 190 kD)

Immunofluorescent analysis of DCC staining in LOVO cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a hidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a AREX® Fluor 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.

Storage

Store at 4°C short term. For long term storage, store at -20°C, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.
