Background
Claudin-3 is a protein encoded by the human CLDN3 gene, which is a tight junction protein with a molecular weight of 22kDa and belongs to the Claudins family. Claudin-3 is expressed at the junction of ductal epithelium and acinar epithelium. It has been found to be upregulated in ovarian cancer, and its increased expression enhances the invasiveness and vitality of tumor cells. Studies have shown that Claudin-3 may become a therapeutic target gene for prostate cancer.
