Background

Structural component of specialized membrane microdomains known as tetraspanin-enriched microdomains (TERMs), which act as platforms for receptor clustering and signaling. Essential for trafficking and compartmentalization of CD19 receptor on the surface of activated B cells , which act as platforms for receptor clustering and signaling. Western blot analysis of CD81 expression in A549 (A), Ramos (B), U87 MG (C) whole cell lysates. (Predicted band size: 25 kD; Observed band size: 23 kD)

Immunohistochemical analysis of CD81 staining in human liver formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
