Background
Serotype 8b Fowl Adenovirus (FAdV-8b) Fiber Protein is a key structural protein of FAdV-8b, a member of the Aviadenovirus genus. It is a protruding fiber-like structure on the viral capsid, playing a crucial role in viral host cell recognition and entry by binding to specific receptors on the surface of host cells. This protein exhibits distinct immunogenic properties, capable of inducing the host to produce specific antibodies, and serves as an important target for the development of FAdV-8b detection methods and subunit vaccines. Its amino acid sequence and functional domains have characteristics that distinguish it from other FAdV serotypes, which are closely related to its host tropism and pathogenicity.

Data

The results of WB and IFA showed that the monoclonal antibodies 4D9 and 5F10 can effectively react with LMH cells overexpressing FAdV-8b Fiber and LMH cells infected with FAdV-8b.

Specific detection using WB showed that the monoclonal antibody 5F10 can effectively recognize the Fiber proteins of FAdV-7 and FAdV-8b; 4D9 can only effectively recognize the Fiber protein of FAdV-8b.
